Pamukkale & Hierapolis
Turkey's most iconic natural wonder — terraced white calcium pools cascading down a hillside, crowned by the ruins of the ancient Roman spa city of Hierapolis.

Pamukkale & Hierapolis
Pamukkale — meaning "Cotton Castle" in Turkish — is one of the most extraordinary natural sites in the world. Mineral-rich thermal waters have cascaded down this hillside for thousands of years, forming a series of brilliant white travertine terraces and warm, shallow pools. At the top, the ruins of Hierapolis, a Greco-Roman spa city founded in the 2nd century BC, complete one of Turkey's most memorable day trips.
Highlights
Pamukkale Travertines — walk barefoot through the warm, milky-white calcium pools (a UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Hierapolis — explore the ancient thermal spa city: theatre, necropolis, temples and the sacred pool of Apollo
Cleopatra's Pool (optional) — swim among submerged Roman columns in the ancient thermal pool
Hierapolis Archaeological Museum — housed in the original Roman baths
Laodicea (optional) — a recently excavated early Christian city, one of the Seven Churches of Revelation
